Charlie and Rich have worked on this song over the last few christmasses, and it involves some excellent crooning.

Download it free here:http://flat29.bandcamp.com/album/footsteps-on-the-roof and also get an ambient remix by Robin for those having an Ambient Xmas (aren’t we all?)

Have a wicked festive time, and we’ll see you VERY SHORTLY with a full album and a brand new series of podcasts!

That’s right, Live with Flat 29! No, that’s LIVE, as in a realtime broadcast over the internet, we are not asking you to move in with us. Well not yet. At this stage in our lives we just don’t think we’re ready for that kind of commitment.. Look, we really like you okay, but let’s take it slowly. Gosh, what a confusing blog title.

ANYWAY, What I mean to say is that this sunday we are doing a LIVE podcast as part of this year’s Pride 48 celebrations! For more information about Pride 48 and how we got involved with it, check out last year’s lengthy blog post, or to get straight to the good stuff (DATES and TIMES and PLANS), then just read this:

The live podcast will take place on Sunday 18th September 2011, at 9PM UK time (aka 4PM Eastern time in the US), and will last one whole bloody hour.

As well as being streamed live on the internet, it will also be broadcast to a live audience of Pride 48 podcasters and fans in LAS VEGAS. You might even be able to hear them laughing (or being audibly disappointed) in the background, if we can work out the tech stuff. For this reason, the theme of the podcast will be LAS VEGAS, and we will be taking your Vegas related questions and concerns during the show, despite none of us ever having been there.

So on Sunday the 18th September at 9PM UK time, go to www.pride48.com to tune in (or visit our website for a cheeky link) and get in the chat room and stuff – we’ll see you there!

Lots of love

Flat 29 xxxx

Hey! Are you at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival this year? Well, we are not…. BUT, we are there in spirit through the medium of popular comedy music group 4 Poofs and a Piano. You may know them from their many years as Jonathan Ross’s chat show’s house band, as well as other TV appearances, successful tours and festival gigs, and other exciting stuffs!

This year, they are taking their show “4 Poofs and a Piano – Business As Usual” to The Pleasance Courtyard (6pm every night from 3rd – 28th August, apart from the 17th), which contains, amongst various comedy and musical stuffs, a song written for them by Flat 29! The song is called “Sexually Incompetent“, and you may have already heard our version of it on our Podcast “Chapter 36 – Sexy“.

4 Poofs and a Piano's Edinburgh 2011 Show - Business As Usual

So if you’re at the Festival, go along and hear them perform it much better than us! They will also be touring the UK later in the year, with a show which will also feature a couple of other songs we have written for them… but I’ll let you know nearer the time

Dear Flat 29 Podcast Listeners,

It is with great sadness and tiredness that I regret to inform you that we didn’t get around to putting together a new podcast this week. Since November 2009 we’ve (just about) managed to put one out every two weeks, and I THINK this is the first time we’ve missed it entirely. We at Flat 29 take full responsibility for this betrayal, and have made the executive decision that we are all grounded for the week, have to tidy AND hoover our rooms, and the sleepover Charlie had planned has been cancelled (the jelly and icecream was ceremoniously poured down the sink… which took ages as it was’t quite liquid enough for the plug hole, so we had to sit and watch it melt, making it all the more terrible).

This week we have all been far too busy working on various projects. Rich has got a new garden, and has all but moved into B&Q (read more about his garden exploits here), Charlie has been officially diagnosed with Royal Wedding Fever, and has been tucked up in his union jack bedsheets working his way through every channel’s coverage of the big day and making elaborate graphs, and I have been spending every waking hour searching for the dog I rented, which ran away within the first few hours of its rental period, and if I don’t get it back I’ll lose my deposit.

SO we are very sorry not to have anything for you this week! But if your ears cannot take the rejection, why not have a listen to our coverage of the Royal Wedding from last weekend! Hopefully that will tide you over for a bit (its quite long), and we’ll see you in a fortnight (two weeks, right) for our next official chapter!

Love and Apologies

Morning  blog fans!

Were you confused and upset by the lack of a new song on our recent extras-compilation-podcast Previously Rejected Material Volume Two? Did you think a whole two weeks were going to go by without us throwing another song out into the internet? Well don’t worry, of course we have done one! This week our new song is available as a free download exclusively at comedy music website The FuMP, and is called “Sneaking Snacks into the Cinema”. It expands on the much discussed podcast issue of bringing our own foods into the movies, and is guest written-by-and-starring comedy musicians the great Luke Ski and Carrie Dahlby

Here it is! Go have a listen! http://www.thefump.com/fump.php?id=1406

PS: I can now exclusively reveal the cover for the new Clooney/Pitt vehicle “Handsome Spies”, as mentioned in the song:

In Podcast Chapter 30 (The Internet), as a consequence of the “Lets Find a New Quiz” Quiz, Rich and Charlie were given the task of creating two niche blogs. Whichever blog gets the most hits will WIN the quiz. These blogs have now been created, so check them out! Share them with friends! If you like one more than the other, share it EVEN MORE! Who will win this hugely important quiz? WELL I GUESS THAT IS UP TO YOU

Rich’s blog: Kim Jong Il Not Looking At Things

http://kimjongilnotlookingatthings.wordpress.com/

The thing about Kim is, he’s easily distracted. As will become clear in the next post……

Keep your eye out, because Kim won’t!

Charlie’s blog: Karaoke While Crying

http://karaokewhilecrying.wordpress.com/

As shown in the picture above, this practitioner is working his way up to a good cry. Note both hands clasping the microphone as though it is the only thing left of any substance left in his life, his body hunched like an empty shell that has been punched in the heart and his eyes closed as he builds a fountain of tears to rain down upon his unsuspecting audience in a flood of overly wrought and soul destroying desperation. As fine an example of a build up as this is, note also that this man has a band from which he can borrow emotion to add weight to his performance.

Some festive Flat 29 fun from listener Jamie, who just sent us in this amazing photo of her tree decorations, commenting “Who needs an angel when you’ve got Rich Green?”

And doesn’t he look angelic! Thanks Jamie, we very much approve of this creative use of the Rich Mask (from Chapter 10), and hope his grinning face doesn’t give you christmas nightmares!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve everyone! I hope you have been enjoying our Twelve Days of Christmas Special podcast, as well as generally having some excellent pre-holiday festivities. If you are looking for some additional christmas cheer in the form of music and talking, you can now download the recording of my live Xmas Mixtape from Sunday 19th Dec 2010.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in live, it was a lot of fun! A few technical issues, but generally went okay. You can relive the whole hour and a half christmas experience here:
